Red Alert 3 : Command & Conquer FREE

FREE DOWNLOAD LAPTOP |  Where else but in the Red Alert universe could you pit transforming mechs against bears, or decide the fate of your mission by attacking floating fortress with intelligent dolphins equipped with sonic gadfly? Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 does not take itself seriously, but that's what makes it so fun to play. This is a strategy game the most rambunctiously over-the-top to reach store shelves in years, filled to the brim with laugh-out-loud cheesiness and cheerful disregard for political justification. Underneath that kookiness is a fairly standard RTS with some visible flaws, but it's wrong anyway, thanks to entertaining units, a strong multiplayer component, and support for the campaign, online fully cooperative - a first for the genre.

So here's the setup, told in a hysterically overacted cutscene that could have been ripped directly from a bad sci-fi film: Russia's leaders, including travel (played by one, very very hammy Tim Curry accent) the primary back in time to kill Albert Einstein. The theory is that it will change the course of history, causing the Soviet Union to dominate as a world power. Instead, it's a bit of time tampering pose new threats, the Imperial Sunrise - and, of course, the wider the game is played. The whole thing live-action riot: JK Simmons as U.S. President Ackerman is all arrogant anticommie, and George Takei scrunches his face into knots as the Emperor superserious. Then there is Jenny McCarthy as Tanya, stroking an enormous toy gun in one scene, holding a sexy pose but still prepared to slit the throat of a man in another place. Poor, ill-fitting costumes, blatant computer-generated graphics, and bad accents - it's all quite wonderful, with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

All three factions - Soviets, Allies, and Empire - are fun to play, and though not dramatically different from each other, they are sufficiently different to make each of them feel fresh. For instance, Allied structures can be placed only after fully completed within the build queue (a standard C & C mechanic), whereas Soviet refineries can be placed immediately and assembled afterward. The new faction for the franchise, the Empire Sunrise, even more flexible in this regard, but also requires a bit of micromanagement. In this case, you queue up a vehicle moving pods called cores that then spread into the appropriate structure. Additionally, most Empire structures (with the exception of defensive towers) can be placed anywhere without the shackles of a nearby base, which makes them an easy choice for players who want to establish an early presence across the map. Of course, these differences extend to ore refineries, but in all cases, resource collection is more measured than in prior C & C game. Gem fields missing, which makes ore mines your only source of income. Method of implementation is a departure for the Red Alert franchise, given that it generally means the ratio of one-to-one ore collectors to refineries and a slower speed produced.

However, a slower economy does not make for less explosive gameplay, and each faction has a number of awesome units to throw into the fray. Some of them, such as attack dogs and police bulletproof, the carryovers from previous games. But no matter whether you're using familiar units or new ones, clashes are fiery and tense, especially when you have to understand the nuances of the secondary mode of each unit. This is especially true when playing as the Empire, considering that most of the unit is more than meets the eye, they transform between two different countries with different strengths. For example, the mechanism of tengu can attack infantry from the ground or perform tasks in the sky waterproof. This flexibility translates to most Empire units, making them fun to use as long as your finger is hovering near the F key on your keyboard, which toggles between unit abilities.

This is not to say that the unit-Soviet and Allied units are not as entertaining to use. All factions use ground, air and sea units, with many of them do double duty in water and on land. For example, frogs always helps to transport Soviet troops on land and water (and funny can spew infantry a good distance with its man-cannon). End-game battle to provide the best and most fun-to-use units, such as the Allied aircraft carrier, which sends a squadron to the field and is one of the most autonomous unit of Red Alert 3 in the navy. The campaign introduces these units with style, and size of some maps that expand will often keep you busy all over the map, particularly during the frantic final missions.
