Being 50 And Getting A Facelift

The need for a facelift increases as a person ages. Though many people do not mind the wrinkles and frown lines that develop, often calling them signs of experience and wisdom, others want to hold onto that youthful appearance a little while longer. There is no reason not to do so. New technology has made it possible to pull back the hands of time and to create a more natural and beautiful face that can take decades off. If you are approaching 50 or are over it, now may be a good time to schedule an appointment with your doctor to discuss your options.

Why Do It?

Even if you are completely comfortable with your frown lines, wrinkles and jowls developing, a facelift can help you to bring some youth back into your skin. People are living longer and many times, those who are 50 are feeling as though they are still 40 or younger. Why should your body look as though you are much older? With new advances in the way medical science can keep people healthy longer, there's no doubt that if you can improve your skin's appearance, you should consider doing so.

Fixing Trouble Areas

It is possible to improve the consistency and texture of the skin through non-invasive treatments. For example, microdermabrasion is a fantastic way to improve the texture of the skin as it removes the older, dull looking outer cells so that new, youthful looking younger cells can replace them. You may also want to try procedures that can just tweak problem areas, such as right by the eyes or the creases that form under your eyelids. If these are your only problem areas, minor treatments are acceptable and very successful.

More Significant Concerns

On the other hand, some people want a more drastic improvement, and they have various concerns to deal with as a result. Do you have any sagging skin tissue in the mid-face region? Do you have deep creases forming under your lower eyelids that make you look tired all the time? Some people have fat that has fallen out of place, creating a hollow appearance. Others have deep creases that run from the nose to the corner of the mouth. You may have skin that is too loose and hanging under your chin and on your neck. These are all conditions repairable through this type of procedure.

Sure, you may not be confident that you need or want a facelift just yet. However, if you are looking into the mirror and feel as though you are much younger at heart than your skin says, it may be time to make some changes. You may be very impressed with the options available to you.
