1. They believe in advertising
This is the number one money waster when people buy skin care is that they look at advertising and believe what they say. Let's be clear here: it's very difficult to resist the promises advertising makes. It's the whole idea of ads - to make us buy stuff! They make the products sound effective and almost miraculously wonderful, promising they will solve all your problems if you only buy them now.
Sadly, most of these promises are exaggerations and even untruths. The pretty models and actresses presenting the anti-wrinkle skin cream was paid a lot of money to do so and most likely won't use the product at all. The scientific research was done in-house, making the results very easy to make suitable for marketing purposes.
So look at ads and if something sounds interesting, look for customer comments on the internet before buying the product to possibly save a lot of money!
2. They buy too many products
If you want to look younger and have less wrinkles, you do need to use a number of high-quality skin care products to ensure optimal care 24/7. But you don't need hundreds of different products!
Stick with the basics: cleanser, day cream, night cream, body lotion and eye cream. Complement the program with the occasional mask, and you're good to go! You can save a lot of money not buying different anti aging skin creams for every part of the body, or special serums for here and there. Just make sure the quality of the products you use is superior and that basic combination of products will be sufficient, even if you have lots of wrinkles already.
3. They believe expensive is better
It's not. Well, not necessarily. Many anti aging skin creams are not cheap, but the reasons for the price can vary. There are the ones which are really filled with rather expensive, but very effective ingredients and where the price really is an indicator of the quality. But then there are many products out there which are expensive because of the brand name. The skin cream itself might be mediocre, but because of the well-known brand name the company can charge more for it than an unknown competitor could.
Don't be fooled! Do your research before you buy skin care and you could save yourself a lot trouble (not to mention the money)!
